- the term Classification shall refer to the unique combination of the commonly-used genetic classification system; i.e., domain + kingdom + phylum + class + order + family + genus + species.
- When referring to living things in the general or in the plural, unless there is a qualifer present (see below), the term "living things" applies to all living things (i.e, not just animals and people, but plants, amoebae, etc.)
- When referring to living things in a qualified sense (e.g., "dogs"), the qualification must state the scientific Classification of the living things.
- The terms "Humans" and "people" are interchangeable as of the date of the writing of this document. As it seems we are closer to artificial intelligence every day, this document will be amended when AI's are developed.
- The term "Fundamental Right" shall apply to any of the rights of Humans, that we will define later in this document, which cannot be taken away by legislation, decree, writ, or any other method, by any government, governmental body, or court.
- The term "Just Law" shall refer to a law that: (i) was enacted by the relevant governmental body or bodies; and (ii) either has not been ruled on by the relevant court(s) or has been ruled as lawful by the relevant court(s); and (iii) does not violate any of the Fundamental Rights of Humans; and (iv) excepting the portion of logic being defined (to avoid "circular references"), does not violate any of the logic contained herein. For example, in a country run by a theocracy, the murder of an "infidel" may be "legal", but that does not render the "law" allowing the murder of an "infidel" a "Just Law". If the law allowing the murder of an "infidel" would prove true after rigorous logical analysis (it doesn't, in case you were wondering), then it would be a "Just Law".
- The Just Law called "Quiet Enjoyment" shall refer to that state of being where the being in question can pursue whatever pursuits they want, without interference, provided that the being has not violated the Fundamental Rights of any other Humans, and has not violated any Just Law and that their pursuits hurt no one (excepting themselves).
- The term "Just Cause" shall refer to a demand that a sentient being be produced before a court or governmental body "within reason", where "within reason" means that there is a valid legal or judicial reason, based on a Just Law, that gives the court or government the right to violate the Quiet Enjoyment of the being's life.
Now that we've defined key words and phrases we'll be using in this document, let's look at some of the more important issues that each of us face and that seem to divide us, and perhaps logic can show us a way out of the divisiveness in which we all seem to live.
